October Events in Clarens: Golf, Wine and a Weekend Worth Booking

October is shaping up to be a particularly exciting month in Clarens, with two very different events bringing visitors to the village. Whether you are joining a charity golf day or spending the weekend exploring wine, food and the beautiful streets of Clarens, there is plenty of reasons to make a weekend of it.
10 October: Cluny Animal Trust Charity Golf Day
The Cluny Animal Trust Charity Golf Day 2026 takes place on Saturday, 10 October at the Clarens Golf & Leisure Estate.
This annual event brings together golf, good food and an even better cause, with proceeds supporting the work of Cluny Animal Trust and local veterinary care.
A four-ball costs R2,000, which includes green fees, lunch, dinner and access to the charity auction. It is a great opportunity to spend a day on the course while helping support animals and the people working to care for them in the local community.
15 - 17 October: Cape2Clarens Wine Festival
If golf is not quite your thing, perhaps wine, food and wandering around a beautiful little mountain village will be something more worth your while.
The Cape2Clarens Wine Festival transforms Clarens into a wine lover's playground for the weekend.
The festival follows a scenic, self-guided walking route through the village, with local restaurants, cafés, deli’s and other venues hosting participating wine estates. More than 40 Western Cape wine estates will be represented, with over 200 wines available to taste throughout the festival.
And because wine tasting is considerably better when accompanied by food, visitors can also enjoy optional gourmet small plates prepared by local chefs at various stops along the route.
There will also be live music at selected venues and specialised masterclasses for those who want to take their wine experience a little further.
The walking format makes the festival particularly enjoyable because there is no need to rush from one venue to the next. You can take your time, explore the village, stop for something to eat, discover a new favourite wine and enjoy everything Clarens has to offer along the way.
Tickets start at around R300, with availability through the official Cape2Clarens ticketing channels.
